Matt Baxter is a Denver based filmmaker who believes in the positive impact of quality original work. Specializing in post-production. Matt’s work has aired on Rocky Mountain PBS numerous times. Focused on fulfilling his clients’ creative vision, he has collaborated with the National Governors Association, Colorado Office of Economic Development and the Colorado Secretary of States office. Matt also serves as a Post production instructor at the Community College of Aurora’s Cinematic Arts Department, formally known as the Colorado Film School. The School has been nationally recognized as one of the top film programs in the country.

"Words are Power" is a celebration of creative young minds and poetry within Colorado. See Colorado's High Schools compete in the Poetry Out Loud State 2024 championships. The winner will go on to represent our state at the POL National Finals in Washington DC. Learn from each student’s perspective on poetry and how they prepared for this event.

Aspen Film and The Art Base, in collaboration with the Colorado Film School, present the 3rd Annual Aspen Film Camp and the 1st ever Animation Camp!
This was an intensive and successful two weeks of making films: Week 1 Animation and Week 2 Documentary Camp.

Never Going Back
"Never Going Back" is a half hour Documentary that explores Colorado's recidivism rate specifically through one organization that has been able to dramatically lower their rate from the national average of 40 to 50%. Through the Second Chance Center, the rate of people going back to prison is down to 5 to 10%. Other states are now looking at the Center and what can be replicated across the United States. Aspen Film Camp 2022
Aspen Film and The Red Brick Center for the Arts, in collaboration with the Colorado Film School, present the 2nd Annual Aspen Film Camp!
This was an intensive and successful two weeks of making films with local youth in the Aspen Community. Across the two weeks 6 Films were made with 10 students ages 12-17. Their final products are included here from Aspen Film’s Youtube Page.
This camp has been a great highlight of our summers and I love running the camp with another Instructor at the Colorado Film School, Aaron Koehler. Together we have run the camp for two years now through Aspen Film, the Red Brick, and the Colorado Film School.

A Tribute to Ellen Kohner
To honor her legacy, Aspen Film collaborated with some of Ellen's closest friends, colleagues and family members to produce this program. This tribute was originally shown during Filmfest 21 at the Wheeler Opera House. Due to the volume of requests we received after the screening, we've now decided to make the program available online for those who were not able to join us in-person. Right now I am unable to post a link to this film.

A half hour documentary introducing DACA recipients and their challenges. In 2012, DeferredAction for Childhood Arrivals (D.A.C.A.) Was created by President Obama to protect the rights of eligible immigrant children who had arrived in the United States. In 2017, President Trump rescinded that protection. Dreamers is a half-hour film profiling five D.A.C.A. participants, their past and present.

Deaf + Autism Day at Happy Dog Ranch 2019
Every fall, a few organizations and individuals round up over 20 volunteers to host a family-friendly event in Colorado for children who are dually diagnosed. We provide multiple linguistic role models, 1:1 support, sensory activities, a parent breakout session, crafts, lunch and animal activities. Launched in 2015 by Jessica Dallman, Ma LPC, NCC, Dr. Debbie Mood, Colorado Hands & Voices, and the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind.

Ute Mountain Film Camp 2018: Prayers and Meditations
This video was created in July 2018 by six Ute Mountain high-school students in the Youth Tech Program, aided by filmmakers from the Colorado Film School, with funds from the Colorado Film Commission. This film played at The Denver Film Festival 2018. This film was the product of the 2 week film camp with the Ute Mountain Tribe.
